Five People have been given Bharat Ratna.

  • The Central Government has given the highest civilian honor to five people who have rendered a distinguished duty to  India.
  • Other than Former Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur and Lal Krishna Advani, the Government announced that former prime ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh and agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan will be conferred Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.

Telangana becomes the second state to make the Internet a Basic Right.

  • Telangana government will soon introduce the internet as a basic right for the people of the state and make it accessible and affordable to all citizens.
  • Earlier, the state of Kerala had passed a similar law giving the right to the internet to its citizens.

The government launched SARATHI Portal to help insurance companies reach out to Farmers.

  • The Centre launched a portal 'SARATHI' that aims to help insurance companies reach out to farmers and the rural population with the government's subsidized insurance products including Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

  • Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed 43-year-old Olzhas Bektenov as the prime minister of Kazakhstan.

Asian Development Bank and Government of India Sign $200 Million Loan for Brahmaputra River Project.

  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $200 million loan to enhance flood and riverbank erosion risk management along the Brahmaputra River in Assam, India.
  •  This project aims to build on previous successful initiatives and address the persistent challenges of flooding and erosion in the region.

India and Bangladesh Declared Joint Winners in SAFF Women’s U-19 Championships.

  • In the South Asia Football Federation Women’s U-19 Championships, India and Bangladesh were declared joint winners.

Pathum Nishanka becomes the first cricketer of the Srilanka to score a Double Century in the ODI.

  • Nissanka scored the country's first-ever double-century in the format during the first ODI of the series against Afghanistan in Pallekele.
