Beti Bachao, beti padhao scheme is expanded wide way. This scheme  was launched by the Prime Minister of India regarding the safety and protection of the girl child throughout the country. This scheme was an urgent need of today's time, as without saving and empowering women of the country development is not possible. Women cover around half of the country ,so, they are half power of the country. That is why they need equal rights, facilities and opportunities to go ahead and contribute to the development of the country.

THE  OBJECTIVES OF THIS SCHEME

- To ensure the survival protection And Higher Education of girl child.
- To ensure empowerment of women through higher education and equal participation and all the working fields.
- To prevent gender based sex selective elimination of the girls child.
- To enhance the status of girl child all over India specially in the top 100 selected districts.
 To bring Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of women and child development together to work  jointly for the Welfare of the girl child.

This scheme  is regarding the safety of girls and their protection and for providing them better education in the future without much load on the parents.

In order to support this campaign the Government of India started another schemes named as "Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana". This scheme involved in reducing the burden of parents at her younger age.According to the scheme ,parents of the girl child  have to deposit some money in the bank account of the girl on the monthly basis for which they will get benefited in the future when she turns 18,as they can use the amount for her education or marriage.

Such ambitious projects of the government in the form of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" scheme will surely bring positive changes in the status of women in India. It is launched by the government with well planned objective ,Strategies and action plan to make it Really effective.

THE REDUCTIONS IN GIRL CHILD SEX RATIO IN PAST

The number of girl child of age group 0 to 6 years was reduced 945/100 in 1991 927/100 in 2001 and 919/100 in 2011.It was high pitch alarming sign for the Indian government to tackle it. This scheme is the result of the alarming sign regarding the reduction in the number of the girl child ratio .This alarming sign was the  indicator of lack of women empowerment in the country,resulting in the reduction in the girl child sex ratio and elimination.

This Scheme  is to save the lives of downtrodden girl and give them opportunity of Higher Education, so that they can be empowered to participate in all walking areas. According to the scheme,Welfare of girl child by creating awareness about gender discrimination in the society helps in the empowerment and changing the mindset of the people. However, This scheme alone can completely solve the problem of reduction in girl child sex ratio. It is needed to be supported by the citizens of India. Rules and regulations, made to reduce crime against girl child, should be followed strictly and there should be strict punishment on Violation.
