A constantly looming fear of defence aspirants is a good coastline of marks they need to touch to triumph CDS. But fear is a powerless beast. Let me tell you, in this era of instant millionaires and cunning moves, only people who play smart cards can last long. So just brush up your competitive spirit and let the winner inside you blurt out.

Here is a nano scorecard of favorable CDS written marks:

WHAT?

Included under the UPSC, CDS is a competitive exam conducted twice a year for defence aspirants. Completed as Combined Defence Services, this exam paves entry into Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.

For Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy there is a bunch of 3 question papers: English, G.K, and elementary mathematics. Each paper is of 2 hours and 100 marks. Number of questions is120 in English and G.K and 100 in Maths.

For Officer’s Training Academy, the set of question paper incorporates English and G.K. Synonymous to the above these papers are also of 2 hours and 100 marks with 120 questions each.

Post the written exam, the selected candidates have to go through SSB interview and medical examination.

TECHNICALITY

Minimum marks to qualify CDS are 20% of total marks, that is, 20% of 300. By now you, the superfast candidate must have calculated that 20 marks in each paper and 60 in total is the minimum requirement.

In SSB interview 40% marks is the basic qualifying mark.

BUT, BUT, BUT… minimum is not good enough, not at all. If you want to stand out amongst the lot then aim high. Here is an archive of recent year CDS marks as a matter of forward planning:

Slam the above sheet on the wall above your study table and get a laser view of it daily, I mean it, daily! The proverb ‘only if you aim for the moon, can you reach the stars’ is quite apt in this situation. You need to set a high goal and then world is your oyster!
