Serving the Nation with the motto of “Vigilance and Valour”, the Territorial Army (TA) is regarded as the second line of defence after the regular Indian Army. The Territorial Army offers excellent opportunities for employed personnel to join its organization and earn the prestigious uniform of the Indian Army. The Territorial Army brings the aspirants with lots of growth opportunities by providing them an adventurous life. Helping the civil administration to cope up with the natural calamities and relieving the regular army from static duties are the primary duties of the Territorial Army.

The online applications are invited by the Army Headquarters Selection Board (ASB) from gainfully employed personnel to serve the Nation by joining the Territorial Army. The Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) is responsible for the selection of the candidates whose application forms are found, correct after scrutinization. Those candidates whose applications are found authentic are called for screening at their respective Territorial Army (TA) Group Headquarters by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB).

The whole selection process of the Territorial Army is controlled and regulated by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) to shortlist the eligible candidates for the concerned posts. The candidates who have applied successfully for the exam will be called for a screening test. The screening test consists of a written exam followed by an Interview conducted by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB).

 

All those candidates who have passed the Written Exam conducted by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) are required to be present at the concerned Territorial Army Group Headquarters as per the designated venues for PIB Interview. The important details about the date & time for the PIB interview are intimated to the candidates through their registered email IDs by the concerned Territorial Army Group Headquarters as mentioned below.

  2. Territorial Army Group Headquarters Eastern Command PIB Cell, Kolkata (WB)
  3. Territorial Army Group Headquarters Western Command PIB Cell, Chandigarh
  4. Territorial Army Group Headquarters Central Command PIB Cell, Lucknow (UP)
  5. Territorial Army Group Headquarters Northern Command PIB Cell, Udhampur (J&K)

 

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for the Territorial Army (TA)
 

  • - The candidates applying for the Territorial Army must be the citizens of India.
  • - The gainfully employed candidates within the age group of 18 to 42 can apply for the Territorial Army.
  • - The candidates must have done graduation in any discipline from any recognized University.
  • - The candidates should be physically & mentally fit in every respect to comply with the physical & medical norms of the Territorial Army.

 

Documents Required by the Candidates at PIB Interview

 

The candidates who are going to appear for the PIB Interview must carry the following documents at the time of the Interview at the concerned Territorial Army Group Headquarters.


 

  • - PIB written exam Application Form.
  • - Physical fitness certificate issued by a registered MBBS Doctor.
  • - Service Certificate along with No Objection Certificate (NOC) by candidates employed in Central Govt/State/Semi Govt/Union Territory.
  • - Affidavit on Non-Judicial stamp paper of minimum value by the self-employed candidates
  • - Photocopy of PAN & Aadhaar Card
  • - Self-certified character certificate as notified
  • - Income Proof from the competent authority
  • - Five photographs of passport size
  • - Character Certificate issued by the Employer
  • - All educational qualification certificates & mark sheet of graduation
  • - Residential Address/Domicile Certificate
