The Indian Army has released a Notification for the recruitment of the Territorial Army Division. Territorial Army offers respect for uniform and a disciplined, adventurous lifestyle. The Territorial Army is part-time work only, where officers will be required to serve for two months. Conditions of Eligibility:
(a) Nationality: Only citizens of India (male and female).
(b) Age Limits: 18 to 42 years as on the last day of filing of the application, i.e., should have attained a minimum of 18 years and should not have attained 42 Years on 10 Jun 2025.
(c) Educational Qualifications: Graduate from any recognized university.
(d) Physical Standards: A candidate must be physically and medically fit in all respects.
(e) Employment: Gainfully Employed.


Note: Serving members of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/ GREF/ Paramilitary, and like forces are not eligible.

Standard and Syllabus of the Examination:
(i) Trigonometry: Sin x, Cosine x, Tangent x when 0° < x < 90° Values of sin x, cos x and tan x, for x= 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°. Trigonometric Identities. Use of trigonometric tables. Simple cases of heights and distances.

(ii) Geometry: Lines and angles, plane and plane figures, Theorems, Properties of angles at a point, Parallel lines, Sides and angles of a triangle, Congruency of triangles, Similar triangles, Properties of medians and altitudes, Properties of angles, Sides and diagonals of a parallelogram, rectangle and square, Circle and its properties including tangents and normal, Loci.

(iii) Mensuration: Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, and circles. Areas of figures that can be split up into these figures (Field Book). Surface area and volume of cuboids, lateral surface and volume of right circular cones and cylinders, surface area and volume of spheres.

(iv) Statistics: Collection and tabulation of statistical data, Graphical representation, Frequency polygons, histograms, bar charts, pie charts, etc. Measures of central tendency.

Syllabus:

(a) Part – 1. Reasoning:
The question paper will be designed to test the candidate's ability to complete sequences, making logical conclusions based on a simple pattern of numbers, statements, figures, letters, etc, as may be expected of a rational thinking person without any special study of the subject.

(b) Part 2. Elementary Mathematics:

(i) Arithmetic:
Number System—Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and Real numbers. Fundamental operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Square roots, and  Decimal fractions. Unitary method, time and distance, time and work, percentages. Applications to simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, and variation. Elementary Number Theory: Divisibility, prime and composite numbers, Tests of divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, and 11. Multiples and factors. Factorisation Theorem. H.C.F. and L.C.M. Euclidean algorithm. Logarithms to base 10, laws of logarithms, and use of logarithmic tables.

(ii) Algebra:
Basic Operations, simple factors, Remainder Theorem, H.C.F., L.C.M., Theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations. Relation between its roots and coefficients (Only real roots to be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns—analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear equations in two variables and their solutions. Practical problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or quadratic equations in one variable & their solutions. Set language and set notation, Rational expressions, and conditional identities. Laws of indices.

 

Admit Card for Online Entrance Exam

The admit card will be made available online for download by the candidate. The admit card shall depict a photograph and scanned signature of the candidate, date of birth, date/time of examination and also the name and address of the examination centre. In addition, email & SMS alerts will also be sent to the candidates for the same.

In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their application, candidature, etc., candidates can contact the helpdesk over the Telephone number given in the link on working days between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM starting from the commencement of filling of application till the conduct of CBT. The contact details will be available on the official website i.e., www.indianarmy.nic.in.

 

Selection Procedure:

(a) Candidates whose applications are found correct and are declared successful in the online entrance exam will be detailed for an intelligence and personality test at the Service Selection Board.
(b) A stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Service Selection Boards. All the candidates will be put to the stage one test on the first day of reporting at the Selection Centres. Only those who qualify at stage one will be permitted to appear for stage two tests, and all those who fail to pass stage one will be returned.
(c) The male and female candidates will be placed in the order of merit on the basis of total marks obtained in the online entrance examination and in the SSB tests.
