  • India women's national cricket team beat Sri Lanka to win the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023.


  • Indian equestrian team secured the gold medal in the team dressage event held at the Tonglu Equestrian Centre in Tonglu County, China. Equestrian is related to horse riding events.


  • Indian women's 25 meter air pistol team has secured the gold medal for the nation in the Asian Games 2023.


  • India’s Sift Kaur Samra has secured the gold medal in women's 50 meter three positions event in the Asian Games 2023.


  • The Asian Games 2023 (originally scheduled to be held in 2022) is a continental multi-sport event currently being held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

  • Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar attended the “South-South Knowledge Sharing Series” organized by the World Bank.


  • The theme of the  “South-South Knowledge Sharing Series” conference was “Digital Public Infrastructure.”


  • The event majorly focuses on India’s digital public infrastructure and its potential to inspire other nations, particularly in Africa, so that their digital connectivity and services can be enhanced.


  • Digital public infrastructure refers to platforms such as digital identification, data exchange solutions and payment infrastructure that help countries deliver essential services to their people.


  • Digital public infrastructure also helps empower citizens and improve their lives by enabling digital inclusion. There is no doubt that India’s digital public infrastructure will prove a boon for enhancing the lives of African people.

  • Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman has been chosen as the recipient of the 53rd Dadasaheb Phalke Award.


  • The Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest recognition in the field of Indian cinema.


  • The Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023 has been conferred on Waheeda Rehman for her great contribution to India cinema.


  • The Government of India honored Waheeda Rehman with the Padma Shri in 1972 and Padma Bhushan in 2011.






Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar National Awards


  • The Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar National Awards 2023 were announced during an event of the 82nd CSIR Foundation Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
