93rd Indian Air Force Day Celebrated at Hindon Airbase

Air Force Day Parade 2025 | Commemorating 93 Glorious Years of IAFThe

Indian Air Force celebrated its 93rd anniversary with a majestic ceremonial parade at Air Force Station Hindan, Ghaziabad, on 8 October 2025. The event was witnessed by the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the Chiefs of the Army and Naval Staff. The parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff. A number of former Air Chiefs and top IAF officers also attended the event.

The festivities started with the march-in of the President's Colors, an invigorating symbol of pride, strength, and solidarity. Upon the arrival of the Chief of the Air Staff, three Mi-17 1V helicopters were flying high in the air in 'Dhwaj' formation, emblazoned with the National Flag, the IAF Flag, and the Op Sindoor Flag, providing an awe-inspiring aerial salute. Group Captain Chetan Pradeep Deshpande led the ceremonial parade, and the patriotic strains of the Air Force Band's stirring music created the ideal rhythm for the grand march past. The Air Warrior Drill Team held everyone mesmerized with their precision, synchronized movements, making a lasting impression. The CAS awarded personnel with 97 medals in categories and six Unit Citations for outstanding service during the ceremony.

In his speech, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh looked back on the Indian Air Force's extraordinary journey — from humble origins to becoming the fourth largest Air Force in the world, with the ability to influence outcomes with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Greatly emphasizing the game-changing effect of Operation Sindoor, he restated the IAF's operational excellence and faith in weapon systems developed indigenously. Stressing innovation and flexibility, he reinforced the IAF's tenet: "Train like we fight."

One of the major pull factors of the venue was the Innovation Arena, highlighting game-changing ideas and solutions developed by Air Warriors from various IAF units. A special exhibit also mapped the events and accomplishments of the past year, painting the picture of a story of resilience, success, and commitment.

The Heritage Flight's flypast was the pick of the day, and included in it were relics from the past like the Tiger Moth and HT-2, followed by the solo flight of the iconic Harvard. This heart-stopping sequence was a homage to the IAF's glorious past and unstinted service to the country.

The static display section showcased state-of-the-art aircraft and equipment such as C-17 Globemaster, Su-30 MKI, Rafale, MiG-29, Apache, MiG-21 Bison, ALH Mk-III, C-130 J Super Hercules, Airborne Early Warning & Control aircraft, Akash Missile System, and Rohini radar, which mirror the technological prowess of the IAF.

This grand celebration was a befitting tribute to 93 years of the Indian Air Force's unconquerable will, living up to this year's theme:

"Indian Air Force: Infallible, Impervious and Precise"

"भारतीय वायु सेना: अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक"
