Bharat Forge Secures ₹300 Crore EP-VI Defence Contracts

Bharat Forge Bags ₹300 Cr EP-VI Defence Orders, Strengthens India’s Indigenous Unmanned Arsenal

Bharat Forge has landed defence orders worth nearly ₹300 crore under the Emergency Procurement–VI (EP-VI) route, giving a sharp push to India’s fast-tracked military modernisation and homegrown unmanned warfare capability.

These contracts, placed for the Indian Army and for naval end use, focus on urgently required unmanned systems designed for varied terrains and mission demands. The inducted platforms - Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet, and Cleaver - cover ISR roles and loitering munitions, all fully designed, developed, and manufactured in India, reinforcing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

A strong signal of operational readiness came during the Army Day Parade in Jaipur on January 15, where Omega One was showcased mounted on an upgraded BMP-2 infantry combat vehicle. The display, witnessed by senior military leadership, highlighted the growing confidence in Indian-engineered battlefield solutions.

The EP-VI framework operates on compressed timelines, demanding rapid delivery without cutting corners on performance or reliability. Bharat Forge securing these orders reflects the defence forces’ increasing trust in the domestic industry to deliver mission-critical, time-sensitive technologies.

Reacting to the development, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, noted that the EP-VI wins and the Army Day showcase underline the company’s focus on building India-specific, electronically resilient, and combat-ready unmanned systems.

Looking ahead, Bharat Forge is doubling down on autonomy, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision systems to enhance endurance, accuracy, survivability, and adaptability in contested environments. With sustained investments in advanced design and manufacturing, the company is emerging as a key force in India’s unmanned and autonomous defence ecosystem, cutting reliance on imports and backing the Armed Forces with future-ready tech.
