Indian Naval Academy’s 26th Convocation: 87 Midshipmen Awarded B.Tech Degrees, ISRO Chief Presides Over Ceremony
The 26th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, was conducted on 28 November 2025 and marked another milestone in its journey to mould the future of naval officers. During the ceremony, 87 Midshipmen of the 109th Indian Naval Academy Course, including 10 international cadets from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Bangladesh, were awarded B.Tech degrees by Dr V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space, and Chairman, ISRO. The ceremony was attended by proud families of the graduates, Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, AVSM, VSM, Commandant INA, senior officers, and the faculty of the academy.
The passing-out Midshipmen completed their degrees in three core engineering disciplines: Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering (AEC), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME). These programs, offered under the academic affiliation of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, provide essential technical knowledge and analytical skills required for a modern, tech-driven naval environment that is dependent on advanced systems, network-centric operations, and rapidly changing maritime technologies.
The Chief Guest praised the persistence and hard work of the graduates and their families in his address. He expressed appreciation for INA’s instructors and staff, for their efforts in maintaining high academic and training standards. Later, he administered the Convocation Oath to formally commission the graduating officers.
Exceptional performers were awarded, with the Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for academic excellence awarded to Midshipman Vishnu KK (AEC), Midshipman Rishav Kumar (ECE), and Midshipman Arjun Singh (ME).
The commissioning ceremony marked a defining moment in the young officers' lives as they began their naval careers in India and partner nations, ready to uphold professionalism, leadership, and technological excellence in the maritime arena.
