AFCAT 1 2022 Official Notification Released - Apply Now!

The Indian Air Force has issued the official notification for Air Force Common Admission Test - AFCAT 1 2022 on its official website. Online applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens to be part of the Indian Air Force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty branches. Both Men and Women can apply for the AFCAT 1 2022 exam scheduled to be conducted from 12th February 2022 to 14th February 2022. Interested candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force can apply online for AFCAT Entry from 1st December 2021 to 30th December 2021. Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 1 2022 

 

Candidates applying for AFCAT Entry must ensure that they fulfill the required eligibility criteria. It is vital to assess the individual norms with respect to the eligibility for the AFCAT Exam so as to avoid future discrepancies. Check nationality, education qualification and age limit criteria for AFCAT 1 2022. 

 

Nationality: 

 

A candidate applying for the AFCAT 1 2022 must be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955.

Flying Branch:

  • Candidates must have passed with a minimum of 60% in Maths and Physics at Class 12 and graduated in any discipline with 60% or equivalent Or

  • BE/BTech with 60% or equivalent Or

  • Candidates have cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with 60%

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics):

 
  • Passed Class 10+2 with 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics and four years degree Engineering/ Technology Or

  • Cleared Sections A and B of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60% in disciplines specified by the examination authority.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): 

 
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 60% in Physics and Mathematics and degree/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology Or

  • Cleared sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with minimum 60% marks or equivalent

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch

  • Graduate Degree (Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent Or

Accounts Branch

  • Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline

Meteorology Branch

 
  • Post Graduation Degree in any science stream from Mathematics / Geography / Computer Applications /Statistics / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology & Environment / Geo-physics / Environmental Biology / Oceanography.

  • All candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all papers of Post Graduation put together (provided Maths & Physics were studied at Graduation level with a minimum of 55% marks in both).

 

Age Limit 

 

  • Flying Branch: Candidates applying for AFCAT Flying Branch must be between 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive).

  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates applying for AFCAT Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches must be between 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2023 i.e. born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003 (both dates inclusive).

 

AFCAT 1 2022 Syllabus and Exam Pattern 

 

The AFCAT 1 2022 will be conducted in online mode from 12th February to 14th February 2022 at several designated centers throughout the country. General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test are the major subjects covered in the AFCAT syllabus. Furthermore, those candidates who have opted for the Technical branches of the Indian Air Force are required to appear for another online test, commonly known as  Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).
