Agniveer Eligibility Criteria

The Indian Army has notified the eligibility criteria for recruitment as Agniveer on its official website. The Agnipath scheme is a game-changing initiative by the Government of India to upgrade the military landscape of the country and provide opportunities for youngsters to join the armed forces. The Government has also decided to grant a one-time waiver in the upper age limit for the proposed recruitment cycle for 2022. As a result, the upper age limit for the Agnipath scheme recruiting process in 2022 has been raised to 23 years. Read on to know more about the eligibility criteria for recruitment as Agniveer.

 

Agniveer Recruitment Scheme: Eligibility Criteria

 

Trade

Age

Education Qualification

General Duty

17 ½ - 23 Years

Class 10 passed with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.

Technical

17 ½ - 23 Years

10+2 passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with min 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject, or 10+2 passed with the ITI course of minimum one year in the required field.

Technical Aviation & Ammunition Examiner

17 ½ - 23 Years

10+2 passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with min 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject, or 10+2 passed with the ITI course of minimum one year in the required field.

Clerk/Store Keeper (Technical)

17 ½ - 23 Years

10+2 passed in any stream with 60% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% in each subject. Securing 50% marks in English and Maths/Accounts/Book-Keeping is mandatory.

Tradesmen 10th Pass

17 ½ - 23 Years

Class 10th simple pass with 33% marks in each subject.

Tradesmen 8th Pass

17 ½ - 23 Years

Class 8th simple pass with 33% marks in each subject.

 

Maximum Age for Agniveer Raised to 23

 

In a press release, the Press Information Bureau of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India stated that because the recruitment could not be completed in the previous two years, the Government has decided to grant a one-time waiver for the proposed recruitment cycle for 2022. As a result, the upper age limit for the Agnipath scheme recruiting process in 2022 has been raised to 23 years.
