Short Service Commission (NT) for Men & Women [SSC (NCC) – 123]
The Indian Army (Bhartiya Sena) has released a notification on its official website for the recruitment of NCC 123rd Special Entry Scheme April 2026 Course (Men & Women). The application form will start from 12 August 2025 & the candidates can apply till 11 September 2025.
Candidates can apply if they’re between 19 and 25 years old as of 1 January 2026. Before applying, make sure to read all the details about the NCC 123rd Course April 2026 given below.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 19 and 25 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
Marital Status
- Candidates should be single and must remain so for the duration of the training at OTA. Marriage during training will result in dismissal from service.
Educational Qualifications
- For NCC Holders: Graduation with at least 50% marks; ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate; 2 years in NCC Senior Division/Wing.
- For Wards of Battle Casualties: Graduation with 50% marks; NCC Certificate not required.
Nationality
- Must be an Indian citizen, which also includes, in some cases, foreign nationals from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibetan refugees as per the official notice.
Physical Standards
- Height, weight, and vision requirements as per official Indian Army norms.
- Candidates should be in good health of body and mind to do service in any environment.
Pay, Perks, and Benefits
The Indian Army has very competitive pay scales also which include numerous allowances and benefits.
- Stipend during Training: ₹56,100 per month.
- Pay on Commissioning: At Level 10 of Defence Pay Matrix ₹56,100 ₹1,77,500 per month.
- Military Service Pay: ₹15,500 per month.
- Allowances: Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance, Transport, Ration, and Uniform Allowances.
- Leave: 60 days annual leave, 20 days sick leave.
- Medical Facilities: Free health care for self and family.
- Post-Service Benefits: Pension, gratuity, and resettlement benefits after completion of the terms of engagement.
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
1. Shortlisting of Applications
- Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) shortlists candidates based on academic performance and NCC credentials.
2. SSB Interview
- Shortlisted candidates have to attend the SSB interview, a 5-day process with mind tests, group tasks, and a personal interview.
3. Medical Examination
- Candidates who pass through the SSB will go in for a very in-depth medical examination, which is to determine if they meet the required fitness standards.
4. Final Merit List
- Based on SSB performance and medical fitness. Candidates in the merit list are issued joining letters for OTA, Chennai.
Training Details
- Academy: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- Duration: 49 weeks.
- Commencement: April 2026.
- Rank on Commissioning: Lieutenant.
- Bond: Candidates will be required to enter into a contract which includes a term of at least a specified duration.
Training includes the elements of leadership, military tactics, weapons training, physical fitness, and character development to prepare officers for various roles in the Army.

How to Apply
1. Visit the official Indian Army website: www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
2. Click on Officer Entry – Apply/Login.
3. Register with your email ID and mobile number.
4. Fill out personal, educational, and NCC details exactly as per your Matriculation Certificate.
5. Upload scanned copies of:
- Educational certificates and mark sheets.
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate (if applicable).
- Passport-size photograph and signature.
6. Submit the application form and keep a printout for record.
Important Notes
- NCC Certificates must be final; provisional certificates will not be accepted at SSB.
- Final year students may apply, until April 1st 2026, which is the deadline for proof of graduation.
- Candidates should bring all original documents to the SSB interview.
- Recruitment is fair, open, and merit-based; we warn against any malpractice or monetary transactions.
- At a time, only one application is accepted; it is not allowed to apply for both CDSE and NCC Special Entry in the same course cycle.
