  • The constitutional changes would extend presidential terms from five to seven years, allowing him to serve two more terms and extend his time in power until 2040.

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers increased by 0.6 points to 133.3.

  • The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) , which is released by the Labour Bureau, increased by 0.6 points to 133.3.
  • Maximum increase was recorded in the fuel and light category of CPI-IW.

  • Labour Day 2023: May 1st, is a widely celebrated holiday worldwide that recognises the achievements of the labour movement.
  • The Central Labour Union of New York City arranged the first Labour Day observation in the United States on September 5, 1882. In 1894, following the Pullman Strike, the holiday became a federal one after the deaths of multiple labourers.
