India’s first 3-D printed postal office was established in Bengaluru.

  • The first 3D-printed post office will be located at the Cambridge Layout in Halasuru, Bengaluru.

Gaj Utsav was inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu in Assam.

  • The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu on Friday inaugurated the Gaj Utsav-2023 at the Kaziranga National Park.

The Union Ministry of Commerce has given five GI (Geographical Indication) Tags to Five products of Madhya Pradesh.

The Five Products which has been given the GI Tag are the following:

  • Stone Craft of Bhedaghat.
  • Gond Painting of Dindori.
  • Carpet of Gwalior.
  • Batik Painting of Ujjain
  • Silk Sari of Varasivni of Balaghat.
  • These products have been given GI tags to improve conditions and give recognition to the handicrafts of Madhya Pradesh.

 

 

‘Sooryamshu’ the first solar-powered Vessel was launched in Kerala.

  • ‘Sooryamshu’ is solar-powered and can accommodate 100 passengers.

The government has released the first Dogri version of the constitution.

  • The first edition of the Dogri version was released at the University of Jammu

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has inaugurated the first Tulip Garden in Jammu.

  • The first Tulip garden of Jammu was inaugurated in Jammu’s Ramban District.
  • The government has also banned the import of tulips. Now Tulips will be bought from Jammu and Kashmir only.

Tiger Population in India crosses the mark of 3000.

  • According to Tiger Census 2023, There are 3167 Tigers in India.
  • As compared to 2018, Tiger Population has increased by 6.7%.
  • Tiger Census conducted under Project Tiger which was started in 1973.
  • Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of Tigers followed by Karnataka and Uttrakhand.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches Big Cats Alliance.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) during his visit to Karnataka on April 9, 2022. The IBCA aims to conserve seven species of big cats, including tigers, lions, leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, snow leopards, and clouded leopards.

Indian Airforce participates in Joint Military Exercise in France.

  • Indian Airforce participated in ‘Orion’ Joint Exercise in France along with other NATO Countries.

Indian Navy conducts offshore security exercise ‘prasthan’.

  • The Indian Navy conducted the offshore security exercise Prasthan to control contingencies that may occur in oil production platforms. The current exercise was conducted on the Greatdrill Chaaya platform about 30 nm South West of Mumbai harbour.

Indian Airforce and US Airforce to conduct Joint Exercise ‘Cope India’ on 10th April.

  • Enhancing military cooperation between the two nations, the Indian Air Force and US Air Force are going to hold an air exercise 'Cope India'. With Japan as the observer nation, the air exercise will take place from April 10 to 21, 2023 at the air force base in Kalaikunda, West Bengal.

Ben Ferncz, the last surviving Nuremberg Prosecutor, died at the age of 103 years.

  • The last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials - who charged 22 Nazis with murdering a million people in the largest murder trial of all time - has died aged 103.

Chinese Company Launches ‘Tianglong-2’ Rocket.

  • Chinese company Space Pioneer has achieved a historic milestone in space exploration, launching its Tianlong-2 rocket into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Inner Mongolia

UAE to launch ‘DEWA’s SAT-26 U’ Nanosatellite.

  • Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) have completed preparations to launch its second nanosatellite for remote sensing applications.
  • The 6U nanosatellite is part of DEWA's Space-D programme. DEWA Sat-2 will be launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, USA. The nanosatellite was designed and developed at DEWA's Research and Development Centre, in cooperation with NanoAvionics in Lithuania.

Indian American Statistician Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao has been awarded the ‘International Prize in Statistics.

  • This prize is considered to be the Nobel prize of statistics.

Priyamshu Rajat wins Orleans Masters 2023 Men’s Single Title.

  • Priyanshu Rajawat became the first Indian to win a singles title in 2023. The 21-year-old defeated Denmark's Magnus Johannesen in a 3-game battle in the men's singles final on Sunday at Orleans Masters.

Rashid Khan takes the highest number of Hat-tricks in T20 Cricket.

  • Rashid became the bowler with the most ever hat-tricks in T20 cricket. He now has a hat-trick in T20Is, Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League and the IPL. This was the seventh time an overseas player picked up a hat-trick in IPL, the last being Sam Curran for Punjab Kings in 2019.
