The Indian Air Force has released the official notification for the AFCAT 1 2024 exam. The Air Force Common Admission Test - AFCAT 1 2024 will be conducted in online mode to select eligible candidates for various roles of officers in the Indian Air Force. The application link to apply for the AFCAT 1 2024 is open now on the official website. Many Airforce aspirants were eagerly waiting for this notification. All such candidates can now apply for the IAF AFCAT 1 2024 exam from 1st December 2023.   • The Indian Air Force has invited online applications from eligible male and female candidates to join the elite defence organization for officer roles.

 

  • All interested candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force can apply for the AFCAT 1 2024 exam from 1st December 2023 to 30th December 2023.

 

  • As per the official notification, the IAF AFCAT-1 2024 exam will take place on 16 Feb 24, 17 Feb 24 and 18 Feb 24 at various online centers across India.

Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT-1 2024:

 

We advise all aspiring candidates to go through the AFCAT 1 2024 eligibility criteria before applying online. You should ensure that you meet the education qualification requirements, age limit and other parameters as given in the notification.

 

Nationality: 

 

A candidate applying for the AFCAT 1 2024 exam must be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955. 

 

AFCAT-1 2024 Educational Qualification:

Flying Branch:

  • Candidates must have passed with a minimum of 50% in Maths and Physics at Class 12 and graduated in any discipline with 60% or equivalent Or

  • BE/BTech with 60% or equivalent Or

  • Candidates have cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with 60%

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics):

 

  • Passed Class 10+2 with 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics and four years degree Engineering/ Technology Or

  • Cleared Sections A and B of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with 60% in disciplines specified by the examination authority.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): 

 

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 50% in Physics and Mathematics and degree/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology Or

  • Cleared sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with minimum 60% marks or equivalent

 

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch

Weapon Systems Branch

 

  • Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.

  • Graduation with a minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks.

  • BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Administration Branch

 

  • Graduate Degree (Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent Or

  • Cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Accounts Branch

 

Graduation from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in any of the following streams:

 

  • B. Com Degree (Min three years course).

  • BBA (with specialization in Finance)/

  • Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)

  • Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)

  • Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA.

  • B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.

Logistics Branch

 

  • Graduate Degree (Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent Or 

  • Cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Education Branch

 

  • Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline

Meteorology Branch

 

  • Passed 10+2 and B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or four year Graduation in Engineering/Technology discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

 

Age Limit for AFCAT 1 2024

 

Flying Branch - 20 to 24 years as of 01 January 2025

 

Born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2005 (both dates inclusive)

 

Special consideration for Flying Branch: The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable for up to 26 years.

 

Born between 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2005 (both dates inclusive).

 

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch - 20 to 26 years as of 01 January 2025
