Points to Keep in Mind while Selecting the Dates for SSB Interview

Following are the key points that a candidate should take into consideration while selecting the dates for the Interview to be conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

1. Collision of SSB Interview with Other Exams

Candidates must ensure that no other examinations are scheduled on the date they choose for the SSB Interview. In a competitive environment, when specific school exams and other competitive exams are scheduled on the same date, candidates are sometimes compelled to leave one for the sake of the other. Therefore, you should make sure that there is no collision of dates of other exams with the date of the SSB Interview.

2. Accessibility of Means of Transport

In the pandemic era, there are certain restrictions on the movement of people which ultimately limits the accessibility of the means of transport. Therefore, candidates should choose the date for the SSB Interview in accordance with the covid-19 guidelines so as to avail the transport facilities to reach the respective SSB Centre without any difficulty.

3. Availability of Required Documents

Candidates should also ensure that they have cumulated the required documents before appearing for the SSB Interview. Following is the list of the required documents for the SSB Interview.

  • SSB Interview Call Letter
  • 10th/12th Original and Photocopy Mark sheet & Certificate
  • Original and Photocopy of Graduation/Post Graduation Degree Certification
  • Bonafide Certificate issued by the School Principal for the final year students
  • NCC Certificate (Original & Photocopy) (For NCC Special Entry)
  • Original Ticket (If eligible for Travelling Allowance)
  • Identity Proof (Voter ID/Passport/DL/PAN Card) (Original and 2 Photocopies))
  • 20 Passport Size Colour Photographs

4. Check the Level of Preparation

The SSB Interview is not just an interview but a comprehensive evaluation of a candidate’s intelligence and personality to assess the presence of officer-like qualities and other requisites to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces. Therefore, you should ensure that you have prepared well to tackle the tasks and questions at the Interview before selecting the date for the SSB Interview.
