Ranks in Indian Navy & Insignia

 

Indian Navy is the Naval Branch of Indian Armed Forces. Indian Navy safeguards our Maritime Borders both during wartime and peacetime. Motto of Indian Navy is Sam no Varunah (शं नो वरूण‌) which means the God of water, Varuna, should be auspicious unto us. Indian Navy celebrates Navy Day on December 4. Indian Navy is a Blue Water Navy, It means Indian Navy operates globally across deep and open oceans.
