Rajya Sabha passes Competition Amendment Bill 2023.

• The Competition Amendment Bill 2023 aims at reforming two-decade-old antitrust law to make in sync with the shifts in the economy.

‘Basohli Painting’ has been given a GI (geographical Indication) Tag.

• ‘Basohli Painting’, the famous Pahari miniature style of painting known for its use of bright and bold colours and peculiar facial forms, from Jammu’s Kathua district, has received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag.

Skyroot, a private aerospace agency has a test-fired 3D-printed Cryogenic Engine.

• The endurance test of 'Dhawan-II', using Skyroot's indigenously developed mobile cryogenic engine test pad, was carried out at Solar Industries propulsion test facility in Nagpur. It demonstrated impressive performance results.

France has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Bastille Day Parade 2023.

• The Bastille Day military parade, also known as the 14 July military parade, a translation of the French name of Défilé militaire du 14 juillet, is a French military parade that has been held on the morning of 14 July each year in Paris since 1880, almost without exception.

What is Bastille Day?

• The French National Day or Bastille Day is the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a major event of the French Revolution,[4] as well as the Fête de la Fédération that celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France.

UAE is going to host International Civil Aviation and Alternate Fuels Conference.

• UAE wins bid to host third ICAO Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels. Abu Dhabi [UAE], March 31 (ANI/WAM): The UAE, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority, has won the bid to host the third edition of the ICAO Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels.

Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel has come to India on an official visit.

• Border Issues (Doklam Border) and Security Issues will be the main topics for discussion between the two countries.

World Bank lowers India’s GDP forecast for 2024 to 6.3%.

• World Bank has reduced its forecast for India from 6.6% to 6.3%.
• World Bank has reduced this growth rate because of showing in consumption and global challenges.

Gross Tax Collection registers a 20% Growth Rate.

• Gross Tax Collection is 19.68 Lakh Crore Rupees.
• These Figures were released by the Ministry of Finance.

Government removes windfall tax from domestic crude oil.

• A windfall tax is a tax levied by governments against certain industries when economic conditions allow those industries to experience significantly above-average profits. Windfall taxes are primarily levied on companies in the targeted industry that have benefited the most from the economic windfall, most often commodity-based businesses.

National Maritime Day- 5th April

• National Maritime Day is celebrated on April 5. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways started this day in 1964 to commemorate the sailing of India's first commercial vessel, SS Loyalty.

Kiran Majumdar has been honoured with the highest civilian honour in France.

• Kiran Majumdar is an art collector and philanthropist.
• She has been awarded ‘Chevalier De La Legion’ which is the highest civilian honour in France.

Indian men and women won the 4th Asian Kho Kho titles.

• India emerged as the winners in both men's and women's categories at the 4th Asian Kho Kho Championships held in Tamulpur, located in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of north-central Assam's Bak.
