As per India Justice Report 2022, the rankings are combined in such a way that certain key points are being measured like infrastructure, judiciary work, human resources, prisons, legal assistance, etc. Tamil Nadu is in 2nd position followed by Telangana. However, UP was placed in the 18th rank and is considered very low in this newly released index.

 

4. Women Boxers win Gold-

At the 13th edition of the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023, four Indian fighters won back-to-back gold medals in their respective rounds. Those who made India proud are Nitu Ghanghas, Saweety Boora, Lovlina Borgohain and Nikhat Zareen. This solid global record has been made after the last performance in 2006.

 

5. GSAT 7B Satellite for the Indian Army-

The Government of India plans to deliver a GSAT 7B Satellite to the Indian Army by the year 2026. The Ministry of Defence has finalised this deal with the commercial arm of ISRO called NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) worth Rs 3,000 crore. This step has been taken to enhance the army’s capabilities in carrying out all its operations.

 

6. The demise of Jharkhand’s Education Minister-

Jagarnath Mahto, Jharkhand Education Minister was admitted to a hospital in Chennai as he was going through a major lung transplant. The CM gave this news on April 06 that Mahto died at the age of 56. The cause of death is health complexities faced by him after he severely suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a legislator for the Dumri Vidhan Sabha district.

 

7. Finland became the 31st NATO member-

Finland becomes the 31st member country of the world’s strongest military group NATO. Both Sweden and Finland submitted their applications for NATO membership in 2022. However, Finland’s seat was confirmed at a conference held on April 04. This signed pact is a heavy blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin over its tussle with Ukraine.

 

8. First Vande Bharat train launched-

On April 12, PM Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the launch of India's first-ever ‘Vande Bharat Express’. This train will run from Delhi to the Ajmer route and it is the latest train to come up in Rajasthan. It has a self-operated engine and will be more convenient and faster than before. This passenger train will run on high-rise overhead electric territory (OHE).

 

9. Apple launched 2 retail stores in India-

Incredible Company Apple is all set to open two outlets in India this month. These stores namely Apple BKC and Apple Saket came up in Mumbai and Saket, Delhi respectively. Moreover, the opening is on April 18 and April 20, 2023. These stores have the latest version of Apple products and services. Consumers will be able to enjoy exclusive benefits across the country now.

 

10. India’s first water metro to be opened at Kochi-

PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first-ever Water Metro in Kochi, Kerala. This metro has been built at a cost of Rs 1,136.83 crore. With this, 10 island communities across Kochi and surrounding the region. Modi Ji visited Kerala on April 25, 2023. He will also go for more projects in places like Madhya Pradesh, Daman and Diu, etc.

 

11. 91 FM inaugurated by PM Modi-

On the inauguration of 91 FM Transmitters, PM Modi was present virtually where it was announced that New Radios will be set up across many regions in India. Almost 2 crore population will be benefitted from improved radio connectivity. This will further expand the range of the All India Radio network. Radio is an essential medium as the information reached feasibly related to agriculture, government policies and initiatives, weather predictions, the world’s economy and more.
