India–Indonesia Joint Military Exercise

10th Edition of India–Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise

That just got tactical and intense in Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh, as the 10th edition of the India–Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise GARUDA SHAKTI officially rolled out. It is being hosted at the Special Forces Training School, and this high-stakes military drill is underway from 3rd to 12th December 2025, where elite warriors of both nations are coming together for it.

On the Indian side, the never-say-die Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) leads the way, whereas Indonesia has deployed its elite Special Forces operatives. Together, they are stepping into a training arena built to raise mutual trust, synergy, and real-time interoperability between the two militaries.

This joint exercise covers everything from modern combat playbook details like unarmed combat, sniper precision, combat shooting, and heliborne operations to advanced planning for drone warfare, counter-UAS strategies, and loiter munition engagements in challenging semi-mountainous terrain. The troops will also exchange information on handling weapons, tactical equipment, and best practices for operations—precisely the stuff that actually shapes battlefield outcomes.

The training regimen places heavy emphasis on physical endurance, high-intensity drills, and tactics effective for any mission. The grand finale is one hardcore validation exercise that simulates real-world conflict situations to push both contingents to their limits in proving their coordination, grit, and combat-readiness under pressure.

It goes beyond the drills and the dust; GARUDA SHAKTI epitomizes a major push toward deeper defence collaboration between India and Indonesia. Every edition tightens the bond just a little more, and this one marks yet another stride in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
