India Strengthens Mobility: BEML Secures ₹294 Crore MoD Contract for 6×6 HMVs

BEML Limited, India's leading state-owned defence and heavy engineering firm, has bagged a major order valued at ₹294 crore for the supply of 150 advanced high-mobility vehicles (HMVs) from the Ministry of Defence. This achievement is another milestone in securing indigenous defence production and is in line with the vision of the Government of India's Make in India initiative.

The newly commissioned 6×6 HMVs are designed to navigate extreme terrain, tough altitudes, and harsh climates with unparalleled ruggedness and operational versatility. The manufacture will be led at BEML's Palakkad and Mysuru plants, with support from its other divisions as needed.

Emphasising the significance of this order, BEML CMD Shantanu Roy said, "This order speaks volumes about our strengths in creating cutting-edge indigenous solutions to support India's defence readiness. It also reaffirms our commitment to the Make in India program and our endeavour to provide the armed forces with better, indigenously developed technologies."

Working under the Ministry of Defence, BEML holds a leading position in defence and aerospace, rail and metro, and construction and mining equipment sectors. The latest order consolidates BEML's central position in driving India's self-reliance in key defence capabilities.
