INDIAN AIR FORCE ACADEMY PASSING OUT PARADE 21st Dec 2019

Years of hard work, months of sleepless night and an undying passion to serve in the Indian Air Force: the graduation cum Air Force training course at Indian Air Force Academy is an admixture of all of the above and its completion certainly calls for a good celebration.

The celebration I mentioned above comes in the form of a splendid parade. Yes each year Air Force Academy conducts a parade to honor and celebrate the finalization of Graduation of its candidates. It’s a much looked- forward- to event of the year and the whole Air Force Academy is involved in its preparation to make it grand.

Continuing the tradition, this year too Indian Air Force has announced the date for the Graduation Parade. On Saturday, December, 21, 2019 the Air Force Academy (AFA) situated in Dundigal, Hyderabad will be holding up Combined Graduation Parade for the successful completion of pre-commissioning training of flight cadets of various branches of Indian Air Force.

Major highlights of this upcoming event include:

The Chief Guest of the parade will be none other than Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria. Without doubt, he will also be the Reviewing Officer of the Parade.

Air Chief RKS Bhadauria shall also bestow the ‘President’s Commission’ to 136 graduating trainees of various branches.

Furthermore, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria will award ‘Wings’ to Indian Navy Officers and Indian Coast Guard Officers for the fulfillment of their flying training at Air Force Academy.

In addition to the above, the Indian Air Force Combined Graduation Day Parade is scheduled to present ‘wings’ and ‘brevets’ to the Flight cadets who have completed their Flying and Navigation training.

Not to forget, the ‘Akash Ganga’ Sky Diving team will have one of its marvelous display followed by drill movements by Air Warrior Drill team.

The ceremony does not end with the above events, there is a long list of display which includes: Aerobatic display by Pilatus PC -7 trainer, fly pasts by formations of PC-7, Kiran and Hawk Aircraft- a daring display by Sarang helicopter team and display of formation aerobatics by the team of Surya Kiran.

Talking about distinction:

The best trainee will be presented with the President’s Plaque. The awardees will also command the parade.

More so, the top rankers in order of merit in the Navigation and Ground Duty Branches shall also receive the President’s Plaque by the Reviewing Officer.

Above all, the limelight of the event comes with the presentation of ‘Nawanagar Sword of Honour’ to the Flight Cadet of Flying Branch who would stand first in order of merit. It becomes necessary to mention that the award is beautified with five centuries old diamonds and various other gems studded in it.

Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria will award trophies to those Cadets who have excelled in their respective streams.

On an end note, the Air Force Chief will attend the ceremonial dinner along with interacting with the Cadets as well as their families.

The above might raise your enthusiasm but the real sight and experience of the event gives you goose bumps. It is an enthralling and motivational event in Indian Armed Forces.
