Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination is a prerogative exam of the aspirants of Indian Armed Forces. It is conducted all over the nation and is opted by hundreds of students.

To illustrate further, CDS entrance exam is conducted with an aim to admit candidates into Indian Military Academy/ Indian Naval Academy/ Indian Air Force Academy/ Officer’s Training Academy. The exam is bi- annual, that is, it is conducted twice a year, in the months of February and September. CDS is a golden opportunity for an aspirant of Indian Defence to build a good career ahead.

In order to take this exam he/ she must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:


Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university for IMA and OTA.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ technology from a recognized university for  Indian Naval Academy.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with Physics and Mathematics as necessary subjects from a recognized university for Air Force Academy.

The entrance exam of CDS is a three step procedure wherein candidates have to appear for a written test conducted by UPSC Written Examination + SSB interview+ medical examination.

Like each year this time too UPSC released its official notification regarding CDS exam for the year 2020. The date of CDS 1 exam is February 2, 2020. Applications have already been submitted and it’s time to download the admit card.

That’s right UPSC has uploaded the admit cards of applicants of CDS 1 2020 exam and here is the procedure to download it:

  • - Go to the official website of UPSC, that is,
  • - Click on the link to download admit card
  • - Enter your registration number/ roll number along with date of birth and captcha
  • - Your admit card will then appear on the screen
  • - Download it, take a printout, and keep it safe.
